The rescue efforts at the Tel Aviv parking garage collapse site will continue into Saturday. This evening (Friday), the IDF Homefront Command’s Rescue Forces located the body of the fifth casualty who had been missing since the tragedy. The fourth casualty’s body was located and rescued by the teams this morning. There currently remains one missing person on site according to records.

“Saving lives outweighs Shabbat,” ZAKA stated prior to Shabbat’s onset. Following Jewish Legal guidance from ZAKA Rabbinical Committee Chairman Rabbi Ya’akov Roza, who consulted with the IDF Homefront Command officers, the rescue unit volunteers were instructed to continue searching for all of the missing persons within the rubble, even on Shabbat.
