Tens of thousands celebrate second day of Jewish new year at Israel’s nature reserves

Tens of thousands of Israelis took advantage of the long weekend by visiting the country’s various national parks and nature reserves on Friday. The most popular sites were four different places in northern Israel.

Over 50,000 people visited Israel’s various national parks and nature reserves on Friday. The most popular sites were Achziv, Magrase Nature Reserve, Hurshat Tal National Park and Nahal Amud, all located in northern Israel. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority recommended that the public visit Bar'am National Park, Hula Nature Reserve and the Hexagon pool.

In addition, more than 16,000 people are taking advantage of the long weekend and camping in the various designated camp sites across Israel and about 17,000 people visited the Sea of Galilee beaches.

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority is expecting more visitors on Saturday and offering a variety of activities for the entire family. For instance, guided tours are being offered at several nature reserves such as Einot Tzukim and a big kite festival will be held at Beit Guvrin National Park.
