The stabbing attack occurred inside one of the train cars. It appears that the terrorist stabbed the young female victim several times. The terrorist was not injured by the police who neutralized him. He has been taken to the local police station for questioning.

Police officers are combing the area in order to rule out the possibility of another terrorist. However, according to the initial investigation, it appears that the terrorist acted alone. The initial investigation also revealed that the terrorist is a 57-year-old Palestinian who lives in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al-Amud and suffers from mental problems. Following the terror attack, the Light Rail Train services in the city were shut down.
