Israeli youths convicted of hate crimes against Palestinians, terrorist activity

Three Israelis have been charged with various hate crimes against Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, local reports revealed on Thursday. Their sentences ranged from 32 months to five years in prison.

Court justices have charged and sentenced three Israeli youths for hate crimes against Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, local media revealed on Thursday. The men pleaded guilty to the various charges against them in exchange for a plea bargain.

One of these is a 16-year-old who was convicted of being a member of a terrorist organization, arson and committing racially-motived aggravated assault, among other charges. He was sentenced to five years in prison. Another is a young man who was an IDF soldier at the time when he committed the charges against him, which included arson, vandalizing private property, aggravated assault and stone throwing; he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

The third Israeli was convicted of charges that included stone-throwing and racially-motivated vandalism; he was sentenced to 32 months in prison. In addition, the court decreed that all three must pay a total of 50 thousand shekels in damages.
