Today (Friday), following large protests in Ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods and cities against the recruitment of Yeshiva students to the IDF, fliers advocating recruitment were scattered on the streets of Jerusalem. Some of the fliers wrote: “Shall your brothers go to the war while you sit here?”

In the pictures distributed on the streets one could find Ultra-Orthodox IDF soldiers with the writing: “As Rabbi Moses ben Maimon (Rambam) wrote, this is a War by commandment… The mitzva of Torah study does not reject the mitzvah of enlisting in the military in order to save Israel from its enemies.”
