The Israeli cellular company Pelephone will compensate a former employee who was fired without a hearing after changing her Facebook profile picture to that of a Palestinian terrorist.

The employee filed a claim with the Jerusalem Regional Labor Court for wrongful dismissal, libel and mental anguish, asking for over 160,000 shekels in compensation. The court, however, dismissed her libel claim and ordered the company to pay her 40,000 shekels only.

The employee also rejected the company's accusation that she expressed support for terrorism, claiming she was merely expressing grief at the loss of her good friend.
