The deputy branch manager at a Yavne supermarket, Niv Nehamia, who was seriously injured in last week’s terror attack, regained full consciousness today (Sunday) after his medical state began improving significantly over the weekend. Niv’s family requested that the public continue to pray for his recovery over the weekend, after doctors stated that despite his improvement, Niv is still in a life-threatening state.

Dr. Galia Karp, who is a senior-level doctor at Kaplan Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit, spoke about the treatment that Niv has undergone. “This weekend, he went through a series of surgeries after which he was hospitalized in Kaplan’s Intensive Care Unit,” Dr. Karp stated. “Over the weekend, his state improved, he was gradually stabilized and began to wake up. Today, Niv is fully conscious, he is communicating with his family, stable and breathing on his own and we are all very happy. Over the next few days, Niv will remain in the unit for continued supervision and close treatment.”

As reported last week by JOL, 43-year-old Niv Nehamia was seriously injured and was in unstable condition after being stabbed in his torso in a Yavne supermarket on Sanhedrin Street. The stabber was caught by the Israel Police, while numerous additional forces were dispatched to the scene.
