Rabin memorial vandalized with swastika and Holocaust reference: “Danke, 6,000,000”

A statue of former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was vandalized on Tuesday morning. The suspect, who is in police custody, was apparently intoxicated when he drew a swastika and wrote “Danke, 6,000,000” (“Thank you, 6,000,000” in German) under Rabin’s bust.

Police arrested on Tuesday morning a man suspected of defacing a statue of former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in central Tel Aviv. It is believed that the man drew a swastika and wrote “Danke, 6,000,000” (“Thank you, 6,000,000” in German) below Rabin’s bust. 

The suspect was carrying two knives and two markers at the time of the arrest. He was apparently intoxicated.

The police officers arrived at Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square after they received a report about the vandalism. In addition, they received a report about a suspicious man who was holding a knife near the area. The suspect has been taken in for questioning.
