If I feel like I have nothing to do, I get bored and suffer," she said in an interview with Channel 2 News Online.
Zibner described her busy schedule where by the time most people leave for work in the morning, she is already through half of her day. "Every morning I wake up at five," Zibner explained. "I go to the gym, then I swim and at 8:30, I'm already on my way to work.”
Despite the busy schedule, Zibner’s preparing for the world championship coming up in a few weeks and will start competing in the Maccabiah today (Monday). "It’s interesting to me. I love having a lot of things in my life," she explained. "I always combined swimming with other things, I still swim every day but at hours when most people are still in bed."
The sharp transition from the pressures of competitive swimming to sitting in the office all day was not easy for Zibner. "It wasn’t an easy change, but I gradually made it through," she said. "I still have to adjust. It feels unhealthy to sit in a chair, so I am always running in the halls. Regardless, I still really love my job."
The swimmer added that she was able to apply a lot of the lessons she learned as an Olympic swimmer, to the workplace: "My entire personality developed through swimming...Knowing how to work hard, achieve your goals and not let anything stop you. This perspective helps me a lot in life.”
