Israeli triple jumper and long jumper Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko came in at fourth place at the World Athletics Championships in London.

Minenko, who hadn’t trained continuously before the IAAF championship, succeeded in improving her seasonal best and finished with a result of 14.42 meters, placing her in the fourth place, just out of reach of a medal.

Among the 12 finalists participating in the triple jump finals, Minenko had the weakest result for this year’s competition (14.17 meters), which she reached at the preliminaries on Friday. Therefore, her chances of a medal were not high.

The Israeli athlete, who won a silver medal in the last world championship in Beijing 2015, came to this year’s championship in a less than ideal state after suffering numerous injuries and with hardly any competitions under her belt since the Rio Olympics last summer, where she came in fifth.

The bronze medal went to Olga Rypakova, the veteran Kazakh athlete who achieved a result of 14.77 meters, 35 cm. more than Minenko.

First time gold-medalist Yulimar Rojas from Venezuela came in first with 14.91 meters, and Colombian Olympic champion Caterine Ibargüen won the silver medal with 14.89 meters.
