Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi once again called upon Israel and the Palestinians today (Tuesday) to work towards advancing the peace process between them. According to el-Sisi, the matter was the main subject of discussion during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last month.

“There’s an opportunity ahead of us and our meeting with Netanyahu was held as part of our view relating to this opportunity,” el-Sisi said during an interview on French television, urging both sides to take action. “We support all efforts that may lead to peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis. If it does indeed happen and we put effort into it, the face of the region will change.”
