A Lebanese MP who belongs to Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc has responded to IDF Spokesperson Ronen Manelis’ op-ed that slammed his organization and cautioned the Lebanese people about Hezbollah’s connection to Iran. On Monday, Hajj Muhammad Ra'ad called Manelis and the IDF “cowards” and said that the article is nonsense. He also warned Israel not to act foolishly and engage in a war that may result poorly for it.

Ra’ad elaborated on Hezbollah’s strength and capability to defeat the IDF. He also alluded to Israel becoming an isolationist state in what he claims is Israel’s hopes of presenting itself as a stronger state.

Yesterday, Manelis published the article on a Lebanese opposition party website. In the op-ed, he slammed Iran for infiltrating Lebanon and creating a missile project. Manelis wrote, “Lebanon is becoming by its actions and the Lebanese authorities’ omissions and the blind eye from many members of the international community one large missile factory.”

He continued, "It's no longer just transferring weapons, money or strategic advice. Iran has de facto opened a new branch in Lebanon." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Russia today, meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the Iranian presence in Syria and Lebanon and the threats they poses to Israel.
