Drone crash: IDF attributes incident to technical failure; Lebanon claims drone was downed
An Israeli drone crashed early Saturday morning in southern Lebanon between the villages of Beit Yahoun and Baraachit. According to the IDF, the drone fell due to a technical malfunction. However, a Lebanese news outlet is claiming that the drone was downed by four missiles.The IDF confirmed on Saturday morning that a military drone crashed in southern Lebanon overnight. “A drone crashed in an open territory in southern Lebanon due to a technical failure,” the IDF spokesperson said in a statement. According to the IDF, the incident is being investigated and no sensitive information can be extracted from the unmanned aircraft.
Lebanon’s Al-Manar network, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that the drone fell between the villages of Beit Yahoun and Baraachit. Arab media outlets are circulating photographs of the Israeli aircraft’s remains, which contain Hebrew writing.

According to Al-Manar, the drone entered Lebanese airspace at around 4:00 AM and was downed by four anti-aircraft missiles.
On Sunday, JOL reported that Arab media outlets claimed that Israeli aircraft attacked several Hezbollah posts near Lebanon’s border with Syria. Hezbollah denied the report and the IDF refused to comment on it.
