Israel’s Deputy Minister Ayoob Kara: “No one is harming the Druze because they are Druze”

In response to claims by MK Akram Hasson that Israel is cooperating with Jabhat Al Nusra who is taking over Druze areas in Syria, Kara stated: “The situation of our Druze brothers in Hader is embarrassing but relatively under control and no one is harming the Druze because they are Druze.”

“The situation of our Druze brothers in Hader is embarrassing but relatively under control and no one is harming the Druze because they are Druze,” Israel’s Deputy Minister for Regional Cooperation Ayoob Kara stated in response to MK Akram Hasson claiming that Israel is cooperating with Jabhat Al Nusra in taking over Druze areas in Syria. “Unfortunately, a small group of Druze identify with Assad, Hezbollah and Iran, which causes a change in the balance that is kept during attacks in the area as they try to harm the Syrian Opposition and this thing causes the unnecessary exchange of fire.”

Kara added that the Druze and the area of Hader specifically have humanitarian aid flowing to them on a regular basis. Kara is in direct contact with the Druze leadership in Hader. After the demonstration that the Israeli Druze held this morning, Kara called upon Israel’s Druze population to be responsible, to not spread confusion and to not spread hostile propaganda that does nothing to assist their Druze brethren in Syria.

“I identify entirely with the Druze but on the other hand, I don’t identify with those who cooperate with the terrorists especially Hezbollah and Iran,” Kara proclaimed. “We don’t have any intention to enflame the Druze sector. We don’t need to enflame the Druze sector. We want to keep the balance like we have for some days.  Israel follows after everything that happens. What happens to the Druze in Hader is very important to the Druze in every place. We do everything to provide humanitarian aid.”
