Jordan's King Abdullah II has urged the US to reconsider moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, saying such a move could threaten the prospects for peace.

The King said this to US lawmakers during a visit to Washington on Thursday, amid reports on Israeli media that US President Donald Trump is expected to announce the embassy move and the official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

According to the Jordan Times, King Abdullah said the move could prompt terrorist groups to carry out attacks in Israel.
