Yoav Galant: “If Israel must attack in Syria again, we will remove the gloves”Israeli Construction Minister Yoav Galant spoke at a conference in Yokne’am and discussed Israel’s plan to be more aggressive if it must attack again in Syria. Targeting Iran, Galant stated that Israel will “remove the gloves” and respond with full force.
On Friday, Minister of Construction Yoav Galant said at a conference that Israel has thus far been cautious in fighting Iran's military buildup in Syria and that in the future it will exert much stronger power. Galant said that Tehran is using Syrian soil for its own interests, including attempts to "take control of the Middle East."
Galant sent another message to Iran, saying that the next time Israel is required to attack in Syria, it would "remove the gloves" and attack more forcefully. At the conference in Yokne’am, the minister noted that Israel would not allow Iran to establish itself in the Middle East and would dismantle the Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis.
“Anyone who wants to ask himself what’s Israel’s military strength can get an impression from [last week’s] incident,” Galant said, referring to Israel’s counterattack on 12 Syrian and Iranian targets in Syria. “I think that the Syrians also understand that it’s not a good idea to try us.”
The minister added that Iran is trying to establish an army in Syria, a military front in the Golan Heights that would serve as a "Hezbollah 2" and use Syrian soil to deliver weapons. "We will not allow all these things, and we have to prepare for the next events," Galant said.
Last week, during a tour of Kiryat Shmona, a city in Northern Israel, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated, "We will respond to every provocation and defend Israel's vital security interests. We are managing things with determination and with responsibility."
