This evening (Sunday), the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that a rocket was launched into an open area in the Golan Heights. IDF forces are searching the area.

According to the statement, the rocket was likely a spillover fire from the Syrian Civil War. No casualties or damage were reported. As reported in October, five rockets were launched towards northern Israel, four of which fell into Israeli territory. In response, the IDF forces targeted three Syrian artillery cannons.

Despite the IDF’s official statements, sources in the defense establishment believed that the rockets were not a result of spillovers.
