After it was reported that the Syrian Army used chemical weapons again in an attack in the country, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said that only Israel benefits from these reports. “The only country that gains something from the chemical weapons affair is Israel,” he said. “It’s strange that the person who is almost crying from it is Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
Muallem denied the allegations that the Syrian regime used chemical weapons and said that Syria condemns the use of such weapons and has not used them since 2014. According to him, members of the Syrian opposition use these types of weapons.
Earlier today, JerusalemOnline reported that Syrian rebels are claiming that Bashar al-Assad’s forces have carried out another gas attack. According to the reports, several people were murdered and dozens were injured when Syrian aircraft dropped barrels of chlorine gas on rebel strongholds near the city of Hama.
