While in Israel on an official visit, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford said that the presence of Hezbollah in southern Syria is a major threat to Israel. According to Dunford, this scenario “would give Israel two fronts to deal with” if the Lebanon-based terrorist group attacks Israel.

Dunford also said that the Iranian influence in Syria is a cause for concern. He added that he shares Israel’s concerns about Hezbollah obtaining highly advanced weapons.
