Today (Friday), Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the possibility that the US may move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. According to Abbas, this would endanger the opportunity for peace.

During a meeting with activists in Bethlehem, Abbas claimed that the move will not take place as the Americans wish to implement the peace process. If it does in fact happen, Abbas said that “the peace process will be in trouble that it may not be able to get out of.”

He emphasized that talk of relocating the US embassy is aggressive. Abbas added that he will not accept any remark made by US President-elect Donald Trump in an attempt to change Jerusalem’s status quo.
