Red alert siren activated in Sderot, surrounding towns

Bullets hit at least one building and a vehicle. No casualties reported.

Red alert sirens were heard Monday evening in the southern city of Sderot and Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. No casualties were reported.

A number of bullets were found near a building and vehicle. The siren was initially thought to have been a false alarm.

According to initial reports, a bullet hit a vehicle in the town of Sderot. Another bullet hit a nearby building.

Earlier on Monday, armored forces were called to the border when terrorists tried to infiltrate one of the towns close the border. Israeli forces arrested two of the three Palestinians who crossed the border. The third fled back to Gaza territory with Israeli forces attempting to capture him.
