After Friday prayers concluded relatively quietly at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, hundreds of Palestinians began rioting at different points within the West Bank and Gaza. Arab and Palestinian media outlets reported that a Palestinian protester was apparently killed by an IDF shooting response during riots in Gaza. According to another Arab report, two Palestinians were injured during a different riot in the West Bank from rubber bullets that IDF forces shot at them.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that dozens of Palestinians are participating in the violent riots throughout the Gaza Strip. The protesters are burning tires and throwing rocks at the security fence and toward IDF forces. Furthermore, IDF forces have been deployed to the area and are working to prevent damage to the security fence.
As reported earlier today by JOL, 400 Palestinians near Qalqilya burned tires and threw rocks at IDF forces, who utilized riot control methods to calm the scene. Other disruptions of order and riots occurred near Bil’in, Nil’in and Rachel’s Tomb. The rioters there also burned tires and threw rocks at IDF forces.
