Tension rises in the south: Yesterday (Sunday), a rocket exploded near the security fence in the Eshkol Regional Council in southern Israel. No injuries were reported and no damage was done. Code Red rocket alert sirens apparently did not sound before the rocket fell. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that the Armored Corps responded to the rocket fire by stricking a Hamas target in the southern Gaza Strip.

This is the second rocket launched at Israel in the last 24 hours from the Gaza Strip, undoubtedly in light of the increasing tensions surrounding the Temple Mount. The first rocket was fired from the northern Gaza Strip in the early hours of yesterday morning. According to the IDF, the rocket exploded in midair and no injuries were reported.
