Hours after Israel's Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman implied that Hamas might be responsible for the killing of its senior member Mazen Fuqaha, the terrorist group issued a fierce statement rejecting Lieberman's claims.

"Only the Zionist enemy is responsible for Fuqaha's killing," said Abu Ubaida, a spokesperson for Hamas' military wing. "Lieberman's statements, in which he tries to dodge responsibility for the crime, reflect the fear that has taken over the enemy's leadership."

Earlier on Sunday, during a visit to southern Israel, Lieberman once again denied Israel's involvement in the killing, saying it "doesn't matter what Hamas says." He added that the terrorist group is "known for their internal killings as a means of revenge."
