Today (Monday), 300 million shekels in cash arrived at a crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The large amount of money is intended for the salaries of the Palestinian National Authority employees.

The cash transfer operation was performed under heavy security. 55 thousand clerks of the PA living in Gaza are waiting to receive their salaries, money that will take care of tens of thousands of homes.

The money was given by the Gulf countries and the European Union. Although the money wasn’t given by Israel, the country is still responsible for transferring it to Gaza. The salaries to employees of the PA were one of the reasons that caused Hamas to enter Operation Protective Edge. Therefore, Israel now allows a similar transfer every several months.
