Earlier today (Wednesday), many Arab social media users began publishing inciting posts against the Israeli security guard who shot and killed two Jordanians after one of them attempted to stab him. The users have revealed the guard’s picture with his girlfriend at a dinner after returning to Israel.

The pictures are spreading on Twitter and Facebook and are protesting the fact that the security guard has been released. One of the posts read: “Drinking with his…and the tears of the saints are still wet.”

Yesterday, following the end of the Israeli-Jordanian rift, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Israel’s Ambassador to Jordan Einat Schlein and the guard. “I’m happy to see you,” Netanyahu said. “I’m happy that things ended the way they did.” The security guard thanked Netanyahu for bringing him back home.

On Monday, it was cleared for publication that a Jordanian citizen arrived at the home of one of the Israeli embassy’s security guards in Amman and stabbed him from behind with a screwdriver. The guard was slightly injured. The incident ended after the guard shot the assailant and the landlord who was at the scene.

As reported yesterday by JOL, following serious accusations made by the Jordanian public, the Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister clarified that the decision to close his case file was based on principles of law and not on any sort of deal.
