Captive IDF soldier's family opposes tunnel search
Israel rejects search request near border, saying no one survived tunnel blastThe State Attorney's Office stated that there is 'no chance' of finding living terrorists trapped under the rubble, and therefore Israel is not obligated to approve the searches.
Israel responded on Sunday to a Supreme Court petition to allow Palestinian rescue teams to conduct searches near the Gaza border, saying there is no chance of finding living terrorists trapped under the rubble of the tunnel blown up earlier this week by the IDF.
The State Attorney's Office said the petition is asking for the Supreme Court to meddle in security-related issues, calling such a situation "extreme."
Furthermore, Israel said the IDF's work in the blast scene is still ongoing, adding that approving the searches for the missing terrorists may put the Israeli forces at risk.
