The IDF and the Israel Police are on high alert ahead of Friday, when thousands of Muslim worshipers are expected to attend prayers on Temple Mount on the first day of Ramadan.
Israel currently has no specific information regarding terror plots, and therefore no restrictions are expected to be placed on the entry of Muslims to the holy site. Nonetheless, given the turbulent past week, Israeli authorities are prepared for potential riots and will be deploying forces all across East Jerusalem.
A large number of roads in and around the Old City will be blocked from the early morning hours until the late afternoon.
