Northern Israel: Israel Police raids institutes affiliated with Islamic Movement

The offices of institutes affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Israel were raided today (Thursday) in a joint operation conducted by the Israeli security forces. The institutes’ bank accounts, one of which was used to encourage riots and tensions at the Temple Mount, have been frozen.

Shin Bet and Israel Police forces conducted today (Thursday) a joint raid at the offices of institutes affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Nazareth and Umm al-Fahm in accordance with former Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon's declaration that the Islamic Movement is an illegal organization.

As part of the operation, many of the institutes affiliated with the organization were shutdown such as the QPRESS initiative and the Supreme Council in Support of Jerusalem and al-Aqsa. In addition, the institutes' bank accounts were frozen.

These institutes encouraged and organized riots and violent acts at the Temple Mount and in other areas in Jerusalem. In the last couple of days, QPRESS called for Muslims to go to the Temple Mount and to confront the Israeli police in the area.
