Hamas Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar on Thursday called on Palestinians to turn Friday into "a day of bloodshed" over US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
"In the West Bank, in Jerusalem, in the Gaza Strip and everywhere Arabs and Palestinians are, we must respond quickly and cause a day of bloodshed," Sinwar told hundreds of Gazan protesters.
His statement was made just hours after the UN voted overwhelmingly to reject the US decision.
While remaining on high alert, the Israeli security establishment does not believe Hamas is interested in a military conflict with Israel at this point in time.
