US President Donald Trump is supposed to present his outline for a Middle East peace plan in the near future and Israel is awaiting the announcement. A few of the outline’s details were discussed during Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s recent visit to the US, the Maariv newspaper has reported.

According to the report, the US administration informed Liberman that one of the outline’s demands is that Israel withdraw from four Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, Shuafat, Jabel Mukaber, Isawiya and Abu-Dis, so that the Palestinian Authority can assume control over them.

This detail was also shared with top Israeli officials. Washington reportedly expects Israel to accept this concession. The Maariv report also mentioned that if Israel accepts the plan, it will receive unconditional White House support regarding the Iranian nuclear issue, American backing on the international level if it decides to act against Iran directly and major military support in a case of war.

Last week, JOL reported that Liberman departed for the US to meet Secretary of Defense James Mattis and National Security Advisor John Bolton, as well as Trump’s special representative to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt, his advisor Jared Kushner and members of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee.
