Watch: Dozens of Gaza protesters infiltrate southern Israel undisturbedDuring yesterday’s massive protests at the Israeli-Gazan border, dozens of protesters cut the security fence and entered Israeli territory. An IDF force eventually arrived at the scene, prompting them to flee back into Gaza.
Dozens of Palestinian protesters cut through the Gaza border fence on Friday and entered Israeli territory, a video released by Al-Jazeera shows. In the footage, the protesters are heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” as they cross into Israel. The protesters ran back into the Gaza Strip when IDF forces neared the scene.
Yesterday, thousands of Gazans participated in the “March of Return” organized by Hamas. In another incident, protesters stormed the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom border crossing and sabotaged several pipes that supply gas and fuel to the Gazans. Earlier that day, two IDF documentation drones were downed during the massive protests.
The IDF spokesperson commented on the incidents, “IDF forces continue to act with alertness and professionalism against the attempts to sabotage the defense infrastructure to harm Israeli citizens and security forces.” Gazan protesters told to an Arab TV channel: “If they use fighter jets and missiles against us, we’ll use kites. It is a very simple device. Say what they will, we will continue the use of kites and may Allah aid us.”
