Palestinian media outlets reported Saturday that four Islamic Jihad members were killed in an explosion near Rafah. The terrorists, one of whom was a senior PIJ member, belonged to the group’s armed wing.

The Health Ministry in Gaza said that two were killed at the scene while the other two died at the hospital from their wounds. Locals had initially claimed that the explosion was part of an Israeli attack but the IDF denied the allegations. The terrorist group later said that the members were killed in a “work accident.”

On Friday afternoon, about 10,000 Palestinians gathered near the Gaza border fence for another massive demonstration. According to the IDF, during the violent clashes, Palestinians tried to harm the Israeli soldiers on the other side of the fence. A bomb exploded on the Palestinian side, injuring several protesters. In addition, Molotov cocktails and stones were thrown at the forces. The military fired toward protesters who approached the fence, injuring about 120 of them.
