On Saturday, the Hamas terror group called on Muslims to “continue the Jerusalem intifada.” Yesterday, two Israel Police officers were murdered by three Israeli Arab terrorists from Umm al-Fahm. Regarding Israel’s decision to shut down the Temple Mount in response to the terror attack, Hamas said that this act constitutes an escalation in the “religious war” against the Palestinian people.

“Hamas seriously views the Israeli government’s decision to shut down Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent the prayers there from taking place,” the terrorist organization said in a statement released by spokesperson Fawzi Barhum. “This crime is a continuation of the religious war against the Palestinians.”

The Israel Police will decide this evening whether to gradually reopen the holy site starting tomorrow morning. In the terror attack, two Druze Israel Police officers were murdered: Haiel Sitawe and Kamil Shnaan.

In the past 24 hours, police forces have been operating in Umm al-Fahm. Yesterday evening, they dismantled the mourning tents that were set up at the homes of the terrorists’ families and arrested residents of the Israeli Arab city, some of whom are relatives of the terrorists.
