Hamas has sentenced two men to death for allegedly spying for Israel, AFP reported Friday.

According to the report, the Interior Ministry in Gaza said three men were convicted for "spying for the occupation." Two of them were sentenced to death and the other handed a life sentence with hard labor.

Technically, all executions carried out in the Gaza Strip must be approved by Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, though Hamas does not recognize his authority.
