The Hamas terrorist organization will hand over control of Gaza’s border crossings to the Palestinian Authority this Wednesday, stated Iyad Elbazem, the Hamas regime’s Interior Ministry spokesperson yesterday (Saturday). According to Elbazem, handing over control of the border crossings, which was agreed upon as part of the Palestinian reconciliation deal, will be used as a significant response to the assassination attempt on a senior-level Hamas official, which transpired this past Friday.

During an interview broadcasted on television, Elbazem explained that the Hamas regime’s Interior Ministry will not allow for any delay of implementing the Palestinian reconciliation and that he is determined to complete the move. “Therefore, the most prominent response to the attempted assassination of the Internal Security Forces Chief, Tawfik Abu Naim, will be handing over control of the border crossings to the Palestinian Authority this Wednesday, November 11,” Elbazem said.

Regarding the assassination attempt itself, for which ISIS claimed responsibility yesterday, Elbazem stated that the incident is still under investigation. Following the incident, Hamas officials declared that Israel is the first to benefit from the act and therefore, the terrorist organization blamed Israel for the assassination attempt.
