An Iranian court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death after he was found guilty of spying for Israel. The man was described as an agent of Mossad and was not identified by name.

According to the Iranian prosecution, the information passed on by the individual led to the assassination of senior nuclear scientists. It was claimed that he shared information with the Israeli Mossad about 30 key figures in Iran's nuclear program in exchange for "money and Swedish citizenship."

Reza Najafi, Iran's envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said last year the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists between 2010 and 2012 had been done by "Israeli-funded terrorists."
