Today (Tuesday), ISIS’s Amaq News Agency announced that the organization’s spokesperson Abu Mohammad al-Adnani, who was also considered to be one of its most senior level figures, was eliminated during the ongoing battles in the Northern Syrian city of Aleppo.

At this point in time, it is still unclear how the terrorist responsible for much of ISIS’s propaganda was injured. According to several reports, al-Adnani was also responsible for coordinating numerous terror attacks on Western targets.

“Al-Adnani was martyred while surveying the operations to repel the military campaigns in Aleppo,” the Amaq News Agency wrote in a statement. Fierce battles are currently taking place in Aleppo with the rebel forces and different militias on one side and the Syrian military on the other, which is attempting to regain control over parts of the large city.
