Lebanon officially bans Wonder Woman because lead Israeli actress

While the world is praising Gal Gadot’s performance in the summer blockbuster Wonder Woman, Lebanon has decided to ban the film due to the lead actress’ nationality. “The former Israeli beauty queen served in the Israeli army and supported Operation Protective Edge,” explained Lebanon’s Economy Ministry in a statement.

Lebanon officially announced on Wednesday evening that the blockbuster Wonder Woman has been banned from the country because the lead actress in the film, Gal Gadot, is Israeli.  

“The former Israeli beauty queen served in the Israeli army and supported Operation Protective Edge,” read a statement released by Lebanon’s Economy Ministry. “In light of this, it has been decided to boycott the movie even though it is an American production.”

Over the past few days, Arab media outlets have reported that Israel’s northern neighbor is leaning toward banning the highly-anticipated film due to continuous attacks from the BDS Movement.
