Tonight (Saturday), Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman addressed Iran's test of its new Khorramshahr missile on Friday and said: "Imagine what will happen if Iran obtains nuclear weapons. That is what its aspiring to. We cannot let that happen."
"The ballistic missile launched by Iran is not only a provocation and defiance against the United States and its allies, but is also further testament to Iran's aspirations to become a world power and to threaten not only the countries of the Middle East, but all countries in the free world," he said.
This morning, a day after Iran unveiled its new ballistic missile in a military parade in Tehran, Iran released footage of a successful test launch that the military carried out soon after the parade took place. According to Iran, theKhorramshahr missile is a medium-range missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,1250 miles) and is capable of carrying several warheads.
Iranian President Hassan Rohani announced during Friday's parade that Iran would continue to strengthen its missile program and said that it would not ask any country for permission to do so. “We will increase our military strength,” he said. “Every country in the world is supporting the nuclear deal we signed except the United States and the Zionist regime.”
"Whether you like it or not, we are going to help Syria, Yemen and Palestine," Rouhani added, "and we seek no one's permission to defend our land."
