Hezbollah's leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah met with Saleh al-Arouri, Ismail Haniyeh's deputy today (Wednesday). During their meeting, Nasrallah said that "we emphasize that Hezbollah stands with the Palestinian resistance, as part of the battle for our common future."
The Arab media reported that Nasrallah had also spoken with the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Ramadan Salah, in order to express his condolences for the death of the terrorists who died in the terror tunnel demolished by the IDF earlier this week.
Al-Arouri, a senior level members of Hamas, served as the head of the Hamas delegation to Tehran last month. His trip to Iran took place two weeks after he was appointed deputy to the head of the terror organization's Political Bureau. al-Arouri's appointment was publicized about a month ago in light of the reconciliation agreement between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
In the past, Arab media outlets reported that al-Arouri was responsible for orchestrating terror attacks in the West Bank from abroad- namely from Qatar. Israel believes that he was involved in the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens, Eyal Yifrah, Gil-Ad Sha'ar and Naftali Frenkel in Gush Etzion in June 2014.
It was also reported that he was forced to leave Qatar due to international pressure regarding ties to terrorist organizations. According to various reports, he had visited Lebanon, Iran and even Malaysia in recent months.
