The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said on Wednesday that "incontrovertible" test results show sarin gas was used during the chemical attack in Syria earlier this month.

"While further details of the laboratory analyses will follow, the analytical results already obtained are incontrovertible," the organization said in a statement.

Last Thursday, Syria's president Bashar al-Assad said in an interview that reports of the chemical attack were "fabricated."
