Report: 1 killed, several injured in Sinai drone strike

Al Jazeera reported yesterday evening that at least one person was killed and several more were injured during a drone strike just south of Rafah in the Sinai Peninsula. It appears that the attack was related to previous exchanges of fire in the area between the Egyptian Army and terrorists.

According to Al Jazeera, a drone strike targeted a home and vehicle just south of Rafah in the Sinai Peninsula yesterday evening (Monday). One person was killed and several others were injured. While social media posts claiming that Israel was behind the strike began circulating following the attack, local media outlets made no such claims. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit refused to comment.

In the hours leading up to the drone strike, exchanges of fire were reported in the area between the Egyptian Army and armed terrorists. It appears that the drone strike was related to the clashes. In the afternoon, it was reported that 7 ISIS terrorists were eliminated by the Egyptian Army.

On Monday morning, hours before the Passover holiday began, ISIS fired a rocket from Sinai toward southern Israel.
