According to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “is the new Hitler of the Middle East.”

“We learned from Europe that appeasement doesn’t work,” MBS told the New York Times in a special interview. “We don’t want the new Hitler in Iran to repeat what happened in Europe in the Middle East.” The young defense minister is striving to build a coalition against Iran with the support of US President Donald Trump, who he claimed is “the right person at the right time.”

“We are ‘restoring’ Islam to its origins,” the prince explained and claimed that Saudi Arabia used to be an open place for men and women to interact and other religions were respected. This apparently changed in 1979 with the Grand Mosque seizure.

Among some of the reforms, such as allowing women to drive, the Saudi education minister explained that the country is redoing all textbooks and sending 1,700 teachers each year for special training in countries like Finland. In addition, for the first time, girls in Saudi public schools will have physical education classes.
