At least 60 people were killed and dozens of others injured when a car exploded near the rebel-held Syrian town of al-Bab. The Islamic State has officially claimed responsibility for the attack.

This comes a day after the rebels were able to drive ISIS out of the town of al-Bab in northwest Syria. According to Reuters, an ISIS suicide bomber detonated his bomb at a checkpoint guarded by rebel forces.

"It was done on a checkpoint but there were a lot of families there gathered and waiting to get back to al-Bab," said one of the rebels. "Therefore we have many civilian casualties."
