While Syrian President Bashar al-Assad strongly condemned the US missile strike that targeted a Syrian airbase near Homs, there are Syrians who are very pleased with the US military action and expressed their support for it in a unique way: by changing their Twitter profile picture to the picture of US President Donald Trump.

Following the airstrike, pictures of Trump started to appear as the profile picture of Twitter accounts used by Syrians. Some Syrians wrote "thank you" or "love you" in Arabic on pictures of Donald Trump that they uploaded.

As reported earlier by JOL, the US missile strike in Syria on Thursday night drew mixed responses from world leaders. While many Western countries supported the attack, others, mainly Russia and Iran, harshly condemned it.

A UK government statement said the strike on an airbase in Homs was "an appropriate response to barbaric chemical weapons attack launched by the Syrian regime." UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon added that the UK had been given advance notice of the strike.
