Today (Wednesday), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) prohibited its citizens from publishing or expressing support for Qatar in light of the siege imposed by the Gulf states on the country due to its support for terrorism. According to UAE authorities, anyone who violates the new law risks imprisonment for up to 15 years.

The announcement of the new law comes following US claims that Russian hackers breached Qatar’s News Agency and planted fake news, which contributed to the crisis between the Gulf states and Qatar.
