Trump administration warns Assad that he will ‘pay a heavy price’ for chemical weapons attackThe Trump administration warned the Syrian regime from executing another chemical weapons attack, for which Assad would “pay a heavy price.” According to the Americans, the Syrian military is taking a series of steps similar to those taken prior to the chemical weapons attack that it carried out this past April, in which dozens of Syrians were murdered.
The White House stated early this morning (Tuesday) that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is preparing for an additional chemical weapons attack. The White House warned that Assad and his military will “pay a heavy price” if they do in fact carry out an attack.
US President Donald Trump noted in a statement published by the White House Press Secretary that intelligence from Syria indicates that Assad’s military preparations are similar to those conducted prior to the chemical weapons attack that it carried out this past April, in which dozens of Syrians were murdered, including children.
“The United States has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children,” said White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. “If Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price,” he said.
