The IDF and Israel Police suspect that 12 M16 rifles were stolen from a military base in Northern Israel. A soldier who is stationed at the base told Channel 2 Online that the weapons arsenal from which the rifles were stolen is not usually guarded. Once it was discovered this morning (Sunday) that the rifles were missing, an investigation was launched.

Israel Police officials expressed their disappointment that despite the fact that it has already been proven that weapons stolen from IDF bases are used by criminal organizations and terrorists, not enough measures are being taken within the IDF in order to guard the weapons arsenals.
