Hundreds of Palestinians clashed on Friday afternoon with IDF forces near the Israeli settlement of Beit El in the West Bank. In addition, Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip rioted near the security barrier in the Beit Hanoun area, prompting the IDF forces on the Israeli side of the border to respond to their violent behavior.

Earlier today, Nablus residents threw Molotov cocktails at IDF soldiers who were in the city to make an arrest. The IDF was put on high alert Friday morning as the tensions in the West Bank were expected to rise following yesterday’s incidents in which two Palestinians were killed during violent riots.

The Palestinians claim that the men were killed by IDF fire. In addition, the ongoing manhunt for the terrorists who murdered Rabbi Raziel Shevach has caused an exceptionally large presence of Israeli forces in the Nablus area. The IDF was aware that this situation could trigger violent clashes between the Palestinian residents and military forces.

On Thursday evening, three Palestinian sisters were arrested by Israeli troops at a Hebron checkpoint after a kitchen knife was found on one of them.
